My heart aches for your entire community. I read and hear about your tragedy and it harkens me back to our own at Columbine High School not so long ago. I hope I don't sound too critical during these hard times but it sounds like the sheriff's department and police department may have an accountability issue here. I am to understand that Tyler Peterson was only twenty years old. It is a federal law that a person must be at least twenty one years old to carry or own a pistol legally. If Tyler was a deputy sheriff then he most certainly carried a sidearm. Probably the .40 caliber Glock he reportedly shot himself with. I hope I'm wrong here but from an outsider's standpoint, Tyler was not old enough to even be a law enforcement officer. At the very least his maturity level was not great enough for him to be in law enforcement.
